A Message From Tracy's Family
We welcome you to Find Tracy Myers. It has been a long hard struggle for almost 12 years now.We would not wish this on anyone, but we know that it happens on a daily basis. The families of the missing exist in a sort of purgatory. Never knowing, always wondering what has happened to their loved one.The sleepless nights, the constant worrying, the physical and mental toll it takes on you,day after day and year after year is overwhelming. It has been said that there are 3 stages of grief. These do not apply to the families of the missing, especially when it is your child. There is no place to go to grieve, you have no remains to bury. You wonder if your going to go to your own grave never knowing what has happened to your loved one.
During these years when Tracy has been missing we have hit roadblock after roadblock trying to get help to find Tracy. When she first disappeared we went to the Philadelphia Police to file a Missing Persons Report as this was the area where she disappeared. We were turned away and they would not even file the report. We were told that Tracy did not meet their criteria!!You cannot imagine how we felt that day,we were in a state of shock. When someone goes missing, time is so important. The more time that goes by without the proper help, the more the trail goes cold.
Later on down the road we found out that a person of interest in Tracy's disappearance that was incarcerated was actually released from jail and could not be located. On other occasions when remains were found that could have been Tracy's we had to wait weeks or months for DNA results for a match. The waiting for word on the results was just awful. It took 10 years for someone at the Police Dept. to even suggest to us to get samples of our DNA.We had no access to previous dental records. We did not know that our old dentist had closed his office and never kept any records or X-Rays. We did not know that in our state of Pennsylvania there is no law or mandate that requires dentists to hold onto records or notify patients that the office has closed.
We have been turned away numerous times by media outlets to get Tracy's story out there. It seems if you are not rich or famous they just won't help. There is a huge hole in the heart of this family without Tracy,We miss her so much every single day.She was just so special, not just to us her family, but to so many other people she met along the way.
Tracy now has over 2000 friends on her Face Book site. She now has this wonderful Web Site created for us by the staff at LostNMissing who found us, reached out to us and have never turned their backs on us over the past three years and our search for Tracy. We are so indebted to them and can never thank them enough for all they have done and continue to do.
We ask that you please get the word out about this site and share it with your family and friends. There is power in numbers and information. We feel that the more people who get the word out will very possibly help bring Tracy home someday.
No one just disappears!!
No one just vanishes off the face of the earth.
Someone, somewhere knows something about Tracy's disappearance.
Until we take our last breath,we will never give up searching for Tracy!
It is our duty as her family and our undying love for her that keeps us going. Thank You again for visiting Tracy's Web Site.
Sincerely, Tracy's Family
