Police have identified the decomposed body found in a ditch near Walling Pond last week as a Salem woman missing since Aug. 1.
The body of Brenda L. Seech, 42, was found Sept. 2 in the ditch near 16th and McGilchrist streets, Salem police spokesman Lt. Dave Okada said.
Police said Seech's cause of death wasn't immediately available due to the deterioration of her body.
"At this point there is no indication of homicidal violence," Okada said.
