Skeletal remains found in the Bethlehem area of Clark County last month have been identified as those of Nina Rae Keown.
Clark County Coroner Edwin Coots said Wednesday that dental records were used to identify the 26-year-old Scott County woman who had been missing nearly three weeks until her remains were found Aug. 27.
Coots said the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s office is still working to determine the cause of Keown’s death.
Police said they were led to the remains by Keown’s ex-husband, Robert Petty, who had been the last person known to have seen her alive when the two attended a concert in Lexington on Aug. 7.
Petty is being held in the Clark County Jail on a probation violation. He has not been charged in Keown’s death but has been named as a person of interest.
