Colorado authorities have confirmed that a body found Friday afternoon in Silverthorne is that of a former Minnesota woman who went missing Monday.
The Summit County coroner used dental records to positively identify the body of Stephanie Roller Brunner, a native of Redwood Falls, Minn., according to her Facebook page and Colorado news reports.
The discovery of her body in the Blue River ended a three-day search for Roller Brunner, 41, who was last seen around 10 p.m. Monday when she went for a walk, taking only her cell phone. Her body was found near her home and in an area that was a focus of a search and rescue operation, authorities said.
"It is with heavy heart that I have to report that the authorities have positively identified the body found as my sister, Stephanie," Ramona Roller wrote on Find Stephanie, a Facebook page she created last week. "Thank you all for everything. ... Steph will be missed so."
Roller Brunner, the mother of three children, recently had been going through a tough time, including a divorce, her brother, Aaron Roller, told Denver news outlets.
Silverthorne police, the Colorado Bureau of Investigations and the Summit County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, according to the Find Stephanie page.
