JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A body has been pulled from Hogan's Creek in Springfield, and the preliminary investigation has revealed no obvious signs of injury.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, a person walking to work through Shell Park called about a body in the creek around 8:30 this morning.
Homicide investigators confirmed the body was near the pedestrian bridge close to the intersection of Fifth Street and Boulevard.
The JSO dive team removed the body, a male who appeared to be in his 40s, and said nothing obvious indicates how he died.
Police said his watch and wallet were still with him, so it doesn't look like a robbery.
The medical examiner will determine an official cause of death.
