A 2-year-old Nampa, Idaho, girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert issued Wednesday may be traveling south through Utah, police say.
Nampa police Detective Vic Rodriguez said 2-year-old Catelyn Sandoval is believed to have been taken by her non-custodial mother, Georgina Sandoval, who allegedly threatened suicide within the past week.
The girl was last seen late Monday night and is thought to have been abducted from her Nampa home sometime early Tuesday morning. Given her mother’s purported mental state, the girl is considered to be in considerable danger, Rodriguez said.
Catelyn is described as 3 feet tall, about 35 pounds with brown, shoulder-length hair, brown eyes and a bump on her forehead. She may have been wearing a green sundress at the time of her disappearance.
The girl’s mother may be en route to the Four Corners area, traveling through Utah to the northern Arizona or New Mexico regions. Georgina Sandoval, an American Indian, is 26 years old, 5-foot-7, and about 170 pounds. She may be accompanied by bald man, also an American Indian, in a blue 2007 Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows, possibly bearing a New Mexico or Colorado license plate, Rodriguez said.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Rodriguez at 208-468-5607 or local police.
