BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Using DNA analysis, East Baton Rouge sheriff's detectives have identified human remains found as a man missing since June.
Detective said in a news release Wednesday the remains are those of 46-year-old Elvin Dalcourt Jr. of Baton Rouge.
According to reports he was last seen on June 24, leaving his residence.
Dalcourt's remains were discovered by a man fishing on July 15, under a bridge in a creek bed. Evidence showed the cause of death as a gunshot wound.
