A man found dead in a Santa Rosa park Monday morning was identified as John Robin Thomas.
The 52-year-old man was found early Monday in Franklin Park. His body was just feet from the locked bathroom doors of a preschool building.
Thomas was described as a transient who lived in a homeless camp tucked behind a small hill in the park. Franklin Park is on Franklin Avenue, near Santa Rosa Memorial Park cemetery.
Detectives were investigating the death, but initially it appeared to be from natural causes.
An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
The morning class at the preschool was cancelled due to the death and investigation.
