A burned body was found Wednesday afternoon in the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park.
The FBI is investigating the body, which was found on the Bell County side of the park.
Park rangers closed Highway 988 until further notice, so they can continue the investigation.
Kentucky State Police were originally working the case, but because the body was found on federal property, an evidence response team from the FBI has taken over.
So far, officials are not releasing a name, age, or if the body is that of a man or a woman.
